If you’ve ever considered developing a law firm mobile app, it’s definitely something to look into. Not only is it beneficial from a branding standpoint, but it can simplify the lives of you and your clients. According to a Law Firm Mobile report, “from 2012 to 2013, there was a 62% increase in AmLaw 200 and Global 100 firms having apps.” It’s also likely that this this trend will continue and any law firm that wants to connect with clients through a digital medium will have an app. If you decide to proceed with development, you should make sure that you include these four features.
1) Contact Page
When an existing or potential client needs to get a hold of you, it’s important that you make it as easy as possible to do so. Accordingly, one of the first features to have developed is a contact page that includes multiple forms of contact. For starters, there should be a “Call Us” button which displays your firm’s phone number or allows clients to immediately call you with a single tap. Next, there should be an “Email Us” button so users can instantly write you a quick note via email. Finally, you may also want to include a location button so users can see your address and where you are located on a map. If they are in the area, they could use this to pinpoint your office and stop by.
2) Appointment Scheduler
If you offer free consultations, you can streamline the process by providing potential clients with a fast way to schedule an appointment. This feature will allow users to input their information and select a time to meet with you or a fellow attorney. It’s also helpful because it will reduce some of the workload of your secretary, and it’s easier to stay organized.
3) About Us Section
In the event that someone is on the fence about contacting you or scheduling a consultation, it’s helpful to offer a section where you explain more about your law firm. Ideally, this will include a brief biography, your areas or legal expertise and which specific services you offer. It’s also smart to include a few professional pictures of the attorneys from your firm and a few shots of the exterior and interior of your office. This should help potential clients connect the dots and learn some key information about you.
4) Free Tips Page
Finally, it’s smart to prove your knowledge and expertise by giving away some free information. For example, you might incorporate an FAQs resource section to cover any basic questions a person may have. Another idea would be linking to your blog so users could instantly read through relevant posts that relate to their case. This is a great way to build some initial rapport and show that you are capable of handling a client’s case.
While there are many possibilities when it comes to law firm mobile app features, sticking to these four should help you get started. Then you could add others as needed to meet your specific needs.
